Encouraging Performance Blighted By Mechanical Trouble For Hideg

1 Mins read

Hungarian driver Krisztian Hideg had a tough start to his season in the FIA European Rally Championship on round two of the series on Rally Liepaja.

Hideg started his campaign in the ERC 2 category with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 with Istvan Herek in the co-driver seat.

The Hungarian crew’s rally was blighted by mechanical issues as the Evolution 9 suffered a problem with the turbo generator which resulted in a loss of power. Couple that with being first on the road and Hideg had to deal with some very changeable conditions.

Even with the turbo issue sorted the car was still down on power but the Hungarian crew kept going and despite being off the pace of the top ERC2 competitors Hideg and Herek came home 6th in the category.

The next round of the ERC take crews to the infamous Circuit of Ireland Rally on April 2nd.
