Breeze Joins Champions HHC Motorsport For 2015 Supercup

1 Mins read

Carl Breeze has joined the team that defeated him to the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup title last season, HHC Motorsport, for his fifth successive season in the BTCC category this year.

Breeze has been a permanent fixture on the Supercup grid since it was launched in 2011, competing in all 108 races so far, securing a championship record 21 wins and 64 podium finishes.

The 35 year old has only won the title once so far though back in 2012, with his latest effort last season coming up short when HHC secured the title with Charlie Robertson, Breeze finishing up third in the standings.

With the team that ran Breeze last year, United Autosports, opting not to return to the category for the upcoming season, the Kings Lynn-based racer has switched to HHC to join fellow front-runners Will Burns and Jamie Orton.

“I’m delighted to be joining HHC and I can’t wait to drive the car in testing next week, it will be the first time I have had a real pre-season test programme so we will be better prepared than ever,” said Breeze.

“The challenge is to win both championships for the team and with my teammates; we have a great shot of achieving that! The HHC car was the fastest car last season so hopefully with the continued input of the team it will be the case for 2015.”

HHC sensationally won the drivers title with Robertson in their first season in the category, primarily running as a single-car entry before Orton joined them for the final four meetings.

“It is great to add a driver like Carl to our already strong Supercup team,” added HHC team principal Charlie Kemp.

“All three drivers will work well together and I look forward to mounting a strong challenge on both the driver and team championship throughout the season.”
