Kincaid takes SST win as Creed Finishes on his side!

1 Mins read

Keegan Kincaid ended his Australian SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Series Presented by Traxxas adventure with a convincing win in the final race of the Clipsal 500 weekend.

Racing in front of a packed 93,500 strong crowd Kincaid took the advantage as he inherited the lead from Brad Gallard when his #454 truck hit one the third ramp awkwardly sending him in to a spin from a rough landing.

Meanwhile Sheldon Creed was on a mission to move up from seventh place to the front while E.J. Viso, Robby Gordon and Matt Mingay followed as they hunted down Kincaid. Mingay would lose out in a coming together with Viso which caused them both to spin.

With Mingay and Viso getting tangled up, this provided Gordon and Creed a chance to break away from the chasing pack as they exchanged positions behind Kincaid.

As the race come to a close Gordon made a last-corner dash by Creed who was caught unaware, Creed would come off the ramp and lose control, with his SST sliding over the finish line on its side. Mingay would finish the race in fourth place.

Further down the standings Gallard secured a fifth place followed by fellow Australian Nathan Pretty. Charles Dorrance finished the race in seventh ahead of Dakar Rally Motorcyclist Toby Price who had to server a late stop-and-go penalty. Bill Hynes rounded out the last of the finishers while Viso suffered mechanical problems.
