After an eight week break the new look Pirelli Carlisle Stages will great crews as they prepare to tackle round three of the 2015 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship.
Competitors will be faced with six special stages and 50 competitive miles before regrouping at the finish at Kielder Castle on Saturday evening.
The event has attracted a wide variety of historic cars across a range of classes. Jason Pritchard will be in attendance in his Ford Escort MK II as he tries to maintain his lead in the championship and improve on his third position here last year. He will have to fend of the attacks of Merion Evans and Stefan Evans who are in similar machines.
In Category K there is expected to be a big battle between Matthew Robinson, Nick Elliot and Richard Hill. In category 2 David Stokes holds a slender advantage in the championship and will have plenty of competition ready to capitalise should he slip up. In category three it’s Paul Barrett that leads the D3 class and while he doesn’t have the same experience as his rivals on the Carlisle Stages he has impressed with his pace so far this season.
Ernie Graham, Rupert Lomax, John Perrott and Chris Browne are all involved in a tight battle for the honours in class C5 while Phil Jobson tops the table in class C3.
The event will get underway at 10 a.m. on April 25th.
