It was the first qualifying session for Strakka Racing’s new Dome S103 LMP2 machine, and between Nick Leventis and Danny Watts, they finished sixth in class with a lap time average of 1m52.284s.
After qualifying sixth in the LMP2 class in qualifying for the Six Hours of Silverstone, third driver Jonny Kane took some time to talk to The Checkered Flag, and felt the team had been making strides with their new car this weekend.
“I think we’ve improved the balance in qualifying today from yesterday so that’s a good step forward,” revealed Kane. “We’ve tried to get a good balance for the race tomorrow so the car is consistent and comfortable for us to drive.”
“We were actually quickest in this morning’s session in the wet, the car seems to be working pretty well in those conditions.
“It’s the first race back after a long lay-off for the team, and the weathers been quite different in our testing, so we’ve had to try and relearn the car a little bit this weekend.
“P6 is fine, its a long race, we’re in the mix and we’ll give it a good shot tomorrow.”
