Ginetta GT4 Supercup

Oliphant Bouyed By Brands Hatch Podium

1 Mins read

Tom Oliphant feels a podium finish on one of his least favourite tracks on the calendar should stand him in good stead for the 2015 Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup season.

Oliphant pounced on a last lap mistake by Will Burns to grab third place in the opening round of the year at Brands Hatch, while he followed up with a pair of fourth place finishes to leave Kent joint third in the points standings.

For Oliphant, who had a busy weekend combining his Supercup exploits with qualifying and racing in British GT at Oulton Park, it was a pleasing start to the season.

“It was a brilliant weekend. We did a really good job as a team, and getting a fastest lap and a podium in race one was particularly pleasing,” said Oliphant.

“A small mistake in qualifying cost us race wins, but this isn’t one of my best tracks so to be quick here shows me that we’ve got a very good race car for the season.”
