Rollcentre Racing confirms Silverstone absence

1 Mins read

Rollcentre Racing has confirmed that it will not be taking part in this weekend’s 4 Hours of Silverstone, the opening round of the European Le Mans Series.

The British team purchased a Ginetta-Nissan LMP3 car at the end of 2014, but after failing to sign up enough budgeted drivers for the first race the decision was taken to postpone its debut.

Having previously been allocated the no.5 Ginetta-Nissan LMP3 chassis, Rollcentre Racing will now take up chassis no.7, ahead of the team’s anticipated return to prototype racing at the 4 Hours of Imola on May 17.

This means that four LMP3 entries will start the opening round of the ELMS season. Team LNT have two cars for Sir Chris Hoy/Charlie Robertson and Mike Simpson/Gaetan Paletou respectively, while Lanan Racing, SVK by Speed Factory and the University of Bolton complete the grid.

The 2015 4 Hours of Silverstone will get underway on Saturday, April 11 at 14:30 GMT.
