Team Collins and Russell announce debut Classic TT rider line-up

1 Mins read

Team Collins and Russell will make their Classic TT debut with a triple rider line-up consisting of Jamie Hamilton, James Neesom and Billy Redmayne.

The team, which is run by long-term road racing supporters Des Collins and Ronnie Russell, will be competing in the Motorsport Merchandise Formula 1 Classic TT Race with a specially-built Kawasaki ZX750K machine.

Hamilton will be leading their effort in the Formula 1 Classic TT Race event and will be hoping things go better than last year, when he was forced to retire from the race whilst in sixth position on-board the Mistral Racing Kawasaki.

He will be joined in the race by the 2014 Lightweight Manx Grand Prix winner, Neesom, who will be making his Classic TT debut on-board Nigel Fitzimmons’ ZXR750RR.

The team will also be entering the Motorsport Merchandise Formula 2 TT Race, with Redmayne riding a KR1S 250 Kawasaki. The 24-year-old won last year’s Newcomers Manx Grand Prix and also came second in the Junior MGP race, where he also set the fastest lap at a speed of  119.062mph.

Away from the Classic TT, the team have also announced that New Zealand rider, Michael Moulai, will be their rider for the Manx Grand Prix on-board ZX6R600 and ZX7RR750 machines.

Practice sessions for the Classic TT get underway on Saturday 22August, with the racing action taking place between Saturday 29 August and Monday 31 August.
