Fonseca Wins in the Wet at Silverstone

1 Mins read

Race 2 victory for the Silverstone round of the 2015 BRDC Formula 4 Championship went to Rodrigo Fonseca, who started from 15th position.

Going into Copse for the first time, it was Hernan Fallas who led the field, ahead of Omar Ismail. At Stowe, Sisa Ngebulana moved up into second, with Ismail briefly losing even more position to Jordan Albert. After the first lap, Fallas led Ngebulana, Ismail, Albert and Tom Jackson.

The top cars got closer together, with Ngebulana attacking Fallas for the lead, and Jordan Albert once again moving past Ismail for third. A few minutes later, Ngebulana moved into the lead for the first time, with Fallas falling back to second. At this time, race 1 winner Will Palmer had made his way up to third, and Rodrigo Fonseca had came all the way from 15th into 5th.

Soon after, Fonseca passed Palmer and took third place. It wasn’t long after that when he took second place from Fallas, showing just how competitive he is in these wet conditions. Into Club, not long after, Fonseca began to attack Ngebulana for the lead and was successful.

On the final lap, Fallas had to retire from the race, and the race finished with Fonseca ahead of Ngebulana and Tom Jackson.
