GBmoto Kawasaki unveil new livery for Road Racing debut

1 Mins read

Ahead of their road racing debut at the North West 200, the GBmoto Kawasaki team have unveiled a brand-new livery.

The Kawasaki ZX-10R machine sticks to the famous manufacturer’s heritage by using the iconic Kawasaki Green alongside splashes of GBmoto purple.

The traditional livery is finished off with the colours of the team’s sponsors towards the bottom of the machine.

The bike will be ridden by Gary Johnson in both the Superbike and Superstock races at next week’s North West 200, the Isle of Man TT and Ulster Grand Prix.

GBmoto spent eight days testing the machine under the guidance of Kawasaki’s Racing Engineer, Ichiro Yoda, ahead of the new MCE British Superbike season and are now ready for their debut on the roads.

Johnson said: “The North West 200 is an incredible event so I’m really excited to be making my debut on the GBmoto Racing Kawasaki there next week. Although the Kawasaki ZX-10R is not a new bike to myself or the team, it’s the first time I’m racing the Superbike version and the first time GBmoto have built one for the roads.

“We’ve had a really good test schedule this year and every time we’ve gone out we’ve improved, so I’m really looking forward to trying the final specification Superbike during practice.  Obviously all our testing has been on short circuits so we will certainly have to do a bit work and try a few things out during the opening sessions, but the GBmoto team know what they’re doing and I’m confident we’ll be up there and capable of challenging for some good results!”

The opening practice session for the North West 200 gets underway on Tuesday May 12, with the first day of racing taking place on Thursday May 14.
