Jackson Delighted By Oulton Seasons Best Fourths

1 Mins read

Ollie Jackson says he is starting to feel right at home in his Century Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT4 after taking a seasons best pair of fourth place finishes in the latest Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup meeting at Oulton Park last weekend (6/7 June).

Following an encouraging outing last time out at Thruxton, Jackson was confident of making further progress towards the front of the field in Cheshire, though was left on the backfoot slightly by a qualifying session that produced only eighth on the grid for the opening race.

A superb start to race one saw Jackson leap up three places to settle in fifth. Holding off Michael Caine throughout the race, Jackson then benefitted from Will Burns retiring ahead to take fourth place.

That would be a result he would replicate in race two with another composed drive, Jackson running in fourth from lights to flag as he maintained a half a second gap to the group behind throughout to cap off his Supercup weekend so far.

“It was a brilliant weekend,” said Jackson. “We’re continuing to make great progress as a team and I’m feeling more and more comfortable in the car, which is translating into race results.

“I was pleased to hang on to fourth in the first race, but in race two I really felt like we had the pace for fourth and I spent little time defending my position. We’ve made lots of progression this season and I feel we took another big step forwards this weekend.”
