Oliphant Heads Supercup Title Rivals In Croft Testing

1 Mins read

Century Motorsport’s Tom Oliphant headed Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup top two Carl Breeze and Jamie Orton in official Friday testing at Croft today (26th June).

It marks the second consecutive race weekend in which Oliphant has kicked off proceedings with the fastest time on Friday, with his best time of 1m 23.556s putting him two tenths of a second clear of his closest rival.

That was Orton, who edged out his HHC Motorsport team-mate Breeze by 0.070s, with Michael Caine just 0.032s further back to hint at a potentially closely fought qualifying session tomorrow ahead of Rounds 12, 13 and 14 this weekend.

Will Burns posted the fifth fastest time on his return to the scene of his maiden Supercup podium twelve months ago, while impressively completing the top six was Tom Wrigley ahead of Ollie Jackson, Bradley Smith and Mitchell Hale.

Behind Reece Somerfield, Fraser Robertson led the AM class runners but only just, with Chris Ingram just 0.166s slower as Osamu Kawashima rounded out the field.

Full testing times can be found here.
