Giddings: Top Five is The Target for Spa

1 Mins read

JWBird Motorsport’s Jake Giddings is looking to continue the squad’s unbroken run of points finishes when the Avon Tyres British GT Championship heads to Spa-Francorchamps next weekend. The reigning class champion, racing with Hertfordshire businessman Kieran Griffin, currently lies 4th in the GT4 Pro-Am standings headed to round five of the championship.

Giddings has previous success at the home of the Belgian Grand Prix, claiming the GT4 victory last year when racing for Beechdean AMR.

“Spa is a brilliant place to go racing and I’ve had some good results there in the past so I’m really looking forward to next weekend”, Giddngs said, “If we aim for the top five and work to keep with the front-runners, we should be on for a good result. I think the championship has gone as well as it could have really up to now, it’s been a good season so far.”

So far the pairing have scored in each of the four rounds of the championship and Griffin has continued to improve during his first season in British GT. The Am side of the pairing is well placed for Spa too, having raced on the circuit in the British GT supporting Volkswagen Racing Cup.

Jake added, “Kieran knows the track from before in VWs and he definitely seemed to step-up his pace last time out at Silverstone, so I think he’ll go well next weekend. He’s more determined now and trying to improve as much as possible, so things are looking as good as they can for Spa.”
