Teenager Alessio Lorandi has confirmed he will be racing in this seasons Zandvoort Formula 3 Masters event on September 20th with his Van Amersfoort Racing team.
The Italian will compete in the event for the first time aboard his Volkswagen-powered Dallara that he drives in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship in 2015, although for the Zandvoort event he will be using Kumho tyres as opposed to the Hankook ones he uses elsewhere.
Lorandi currently sits seventeenth in the European Formula 3 championship standings, having scored twenty-six points with a best finish of sixth at the French Pau circuit back in May. He participated in the recent round of F3 at Zandvoort, with a best finish of nineteenth in race three.
Previous winners of the Masters event include current Formula 1 stars Lewis Hamilton, Nico Hulkenberg, Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen, as well as former F1 stars Takuma Sato and Paul di Resta, plus the late Jules Bianchi.
