Three In A Row For Oliphant With Knockhill Pole

1 Mins read

Tom Oliphant fended off his HHC Motorsport rivals to take his third consecutive Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup pole position in qualifying at Knockhill.

The championship leader added to his pole positions at Croft and Snetterton with a best lap of 51.389s in Scotland, an effort that put him two tenths of a second clear of HHC trio Will Burns, Jamie Orton and Carl Breeze.

For the second consecutive meeting, Burns was the fastest of the HHC contenders to take a slot on the front row for the opening race – though only just, with three thousandths of a second separating himself and Orton.

Behind Breeze, Tom Wrigley matched his best qualifying performance of the season so far with fifth, while Ollie Jackson posted the sixth fastest time for the fourth qualifying session this year. Reece Somerfield took seventh meanwhile, the last man within a second of the pole time.

Michael Caine was a lower than anticipated eighth, just edging out AM class pole sitter Colin White – who was over a second clear of his closest class rival Osamu Kawashima, while Fraser Robertson endured a troubled session after putting his G55 in the Clark gravel trap after just one flying lap.

Full qualifying results can be found here.
