28-car field set for Macau Grand Prix

1 Mins read

The organisers for the 62nd Macau Grand Prix have announced a twenty-eight-car field for the event that takes place 19-22 November 2015.

Leading the entry list is 2014 Macau winner and 2015 FIA European Formula 3 Champion Felix Rosenqvist, who continues his collaboration with Prema Powerteam into the event this year.

Rosenqvist will be joined by regular 2015 team-mates Jake Dennis and Lance Stroll, with Prema once again aligning themselves with Theodore Racing for a third consecutive year at Macau.

Carlin has entered four cars into the event, with Antonio Giovinazzi being joined by Gustavo Menezes, Callum Ilott and George Russell, while Van Amersfoort Racing are running a two-car entry for Charles Leclerc and Alessio Lorandi.

Signature’s regular European Formula 3 drivers Alexander Albon and Dorian Boccolacci will be racing, as will Motopark’s Markus Pommer and Sergio Sette Camara.

Fortec Motorsports will be fielding a trio of cars, with Pietro Fittipaldi being joined by Wing Chung Chang and Hongwei Cao, while Mücke Motorsport have downsized to run just two cars in the event for Santino Ferrucci and Mikkel Jensen.

Double R Racing have retained Hong Kong racer Matt Solomon for the event, and he will be joined by British GT race winner Alexander Sims, who qualifies for the event having raced for the Hitech GP team in the European Formula 3 event at Portimao earlier this season.

Team West-Tec F3 will field two cars, with Ryan Tveter joining the team having competed for Carlin in European Formula 3, with Sam MacLeod also in the line-up having raced for Motopark.

ThreeBond with T-Sport will be fielding one car, with Indian driver Arjun Maini switching from racing with Van Amersfoort Racing for the weekend.

Another driver switching teams is Zhi Cong Li, who moves from Fortec Motorsports to race for Jo Zeller Racing, who were set to race with Felix Serralles, but the Puerto Rican driver was forced to withdraw as he will be participating in an Indy Lights test in the United States.

There will also be two teams present from the Japanese Formula 3 Championship for the Macau weekend, with TOM’s team fielding Kenta Yamashita and Nick Cassidy, while the B-Max Racing Team also return with Mitsunori Takaboshi and Yuhi Sekiguchi.
