British GT Trio To Race Ginetta Prototypes At Magny-Cours

1 Mins read

2011 British GT champion Glynn Geddie and former GT4 team-mates Morten Dons and Aleksander Schjerpen are joining Team LNT this weekend in the VdeV Endurance Championship at Magny-Cours.

Schjerpen will join Ginetta chairman Lawrence Tomlinson and factory driver Michael Simpson in one Ginetta-Nissan LMP3, those two having taken victory in their last VdeV outing at Paul Ricard, while Geddie and Dons will share a second car.

The weekend will mark Geddie’s first outing with Ginetta, while for Dons it will be a second race outing in the Ginetta LMP3, having taken a class victory with the University of Bolton team on his prototype debut in the second round of the European Le Mans Series at Imola in May.

Dons and Schjerpen previously shared a Ginetta G55 GT4 in the 2014 British GT Championship, helping Century Motorsport to the Teams Championship, while Geddie took the outright 2011 title alongside his father Jim Geddie in a CRS Racing Ferrari 458.

“This is a great opportunity for me to join Lawrence and Team LNT in their amazing LMP3 car,” said Schjerpen. “I have been keeping an eye on LMP3 throughout this season as we work on our plans for 2016, so to get to drive one at this stage in an event with a European Le Mans Series winning team is a great.”

Geddie added: “I am delighted to have this opportunity out the blue from Ginetta. I have been looking into LMP3 so the timing couldn’t be better to have a run in the Ginetta Prototype.

“After Ginetta wining the last round I know the car has the pace, so we will have to see how testing goes and work our way to the front, but I am hoping to have a strong weekend, after not racing for a while.
