NASCAR Whelen Euro Series unveils Gen-6 inspired car

1 Mins read

The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series has unveiled its new car which will take to the track for the 2016 season. “It will bring all of us to the next level.” said NWES President Jerome Galpin at Circuit Zolder which is hosting the 2015 EuroNASCAR Finals this weekend.

“We are really proud of the work done on the new car ! Of course, the new body is the most spectacular part of it, but our cars never stops improving to deliver to fans and drivers one of the best form of racing in Europe,” added Galpin.

With the focus on evolution rather than revolution Galpin also announced that current car owners will be able to update their 2015 specification car to the new 2016 specification.

The new car sees a new shape inspired by the current Gen-6 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cars and creates a bigger link between the parent series in the United States.

Featuring better aerodynamics along with improved safety and a focus on cost effectiveness the new composite body will help continue the work done this season which has seen lap records fall by a full second. The new updates go hand in hand with the development work carried out by tyre supplier Michelin.
