Oliphant Praises Century Team After Supercup Title Success

1 Mins read

Tom Oliphant says sheer “hard work and dedication” throughout the season from the Century Motorsport team was the key to his 2015 Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup championship win.

Oliphant wrapped up the title with a pair of second place finishes in the opening two races at Brands Hatch GP, his sixteenth and seventeenth consecutive podium finishes of the season.

A fourth place in the final race of the season meant he finished the campaign with top four finishes in 26 out of the 27 races, including an unmatched 21 podium finishes.

The result marks Century’s first title in the Supercup era, having previously won the G50 Cup in 2009 with team principal Nathan Freke, and Oliphant was full of praise for their efforts.

“I can’t quite believe it. It’s absolutely fantastic,” Oliphant enthused after the podium celebrations.

“Words can’t describe the effort that everybody has put in to get here. Everyone at Century Motorsport has been incredible, not one minute has gone by when we haven’t tried to win and the car has been impeccable this season.

“I’m over the moon, and it shows that if you put the hard work and dedication into it over a season than you get the rewards. This is my first national car-racing championship and I’ll remember that moment on the podium with my team and my family forever.”
