Winfield Racing School Returns with New Winter Series

1 Mins read

The Winfield Racing School that announced its return earlier this year has now opened applications to its ‘Winter Selection Programme’. The aim of the school will be to help talented young drivers into racing.

The Programme has also promised the winner a drive for the Prema Powerteam in a number of European FIA Formula 4 series. This year, Prema competed in the German and Italian series, while also focusing heavily on their European Formula 3 project.

30 places have been made available for the winter series which will comprise of three race weekends with two qualifying sessions and three races each, all at the Circuit Paul Ricard. By taking place between January 8-24th this will give drivers time and opportunity to look for a seat the following year.

This will result in the drivers going into the 2016 season with 4000km of experience of an existing FIA Formula 4 car, giving them an advantage over the competition having been trained in the prestigious environment.

While in Winfield, the drivers will also be trained in a number of other activities, including workshops designed to develop their technical skills and enhance their knowledge of rules and regulations, insurance, physical and mental preparation, media training, and racing conduct.

Having brought through names such as Alain Prost, Damon Hill and Jean Alesi in years gone by, Winfield became one of the most respected names in motorsport and will be looking to bounce back to its former glory.
