2015 Ginetta GT4 Supercup: Season In Numbers

2 Mins read

The 2015 Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup produced the fifth different champion in the championship’s history, with Tom Oliphant emerging victorious from a season which produced seven different race-winners and eleven podium visitors.

A superb second Supercup campaign for Oliphant saw him card more podium finishes, fastest laps and pole positions than any of his rivals, with his only race win tally matched by his chief title rival Carl Breeze.

Oliphant’s consistency was proven by 26 top four finishes in 27 races, whilst he and Will Burns were the only drivers to set a top six time in each of the ten qualifying sessions across the season, with Oliphant ending up with the best qualifying average.

While Breeze missed out on the title, he ended the season having led more races, laps and miles than any of his competitors, whilst he also gained 36 positions from his grid starts, a tally only beaten by joint-leaders Bradley Smith, Reece Somerfield and Burns.

In the Am class, Colin White’s dominance over proceedings was shown with his tally of fourteen wins compared to five for his nearest competitor, with the Ginetta stalwart also leading the way for podium finishes.
