The Ginetta G57 prototype will make its competitive race debut this weekend, with four cars entered for the opening round of the V de V Endurance Championship at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona.
Ginetta chairman Lawrence Tomlinson will share one car with factory driver Mike Simpson, while fellow works pilot Charlie Robertson will be joined by Ginetta GT4 Supercup regular Colin White in a CWS Racing entered car.
Simpson Racing will field two further cars, with 2015 European Le Mans LMP3 vice-champion Gaeten Paletou sharing one with Adrian Watt, while Nick Jones, Craig Fleming and Adam Sharpe will race the other.
The opening round of the V de V Championship is expected to draw a 25 car grid for the four hour endurance race, with the Ginetta’s entered into the PFV Class.
“The V de V Championship has been on board with Ginetta’s prototype programme since its early days,” said Ginetta Technical Director Ewan Baldry.
“The organisers provide an excellent championship which fits incredibly well with the racing ethos we have here at Ginetta. The tracks are ideal for the car, and we’re looking forward to a positive debut!”
V de V Series Boss, Eric Van de Vyver added: “I’m pleased to continue working alongside a well-known, successful manufacturer as Ginetta.
“We look forward to welcoming them back to V de V this year in the LMP3/PFV category. The G57 has competitive price that reflects V de V’s philosophy, and thus remains open to motorsport enthusiasts and professionals alike.”
