Jacob and Regnier First R.A.C. Historic Championship Crew Home in Belgium

1 Mins read

Rallye Salamandre in Belgium hosted round two of the Fuchs Lubricants R.A.C. Historic Asphalt Championship on Sunday April 24 and it was the duo of Christophe Jacob and Isabelle Regnier in a Ford Escort Mk2 who were the first championship registered crew home.

The crew led from the start and were able to extend their advantage throughout the day as local knowledge helped them overcome difficult weather conditions. Jacob and Regnier finished third overall in the rally’s historic section behind Florian Gonon in a Ford Escort Mk1 and Stefan Stouf Porsche 911 RSR who were split by one second.

Tim Pearcy had a good run to second of the championship crews while Roger Moran continued his good start to the season with third. Top crew in category two went to Roger Matthews in a Ford Escort Mk1 who finished ahead of Simon Crook. Crook survived a dramatic moment when he overshot into someone’s yard. It was a difficult day for Steve Perez who lost two minutes in a ditch in their infamous Lancia Stratos.
