Foust Eager to get Back on Track for 2016 Season

1 Mins read

Tanner Foust is looking forward to getting back on track for next weekend when the  2016 Red Bull Global Rallycross season kicks off in Phoenix.

Foust, who will also race at the FIA World Rallycross event at Lydden Hill a week later, won three times last season, but missed out on the title to Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team mate Scott Speed.

“I’m excited to start the racing season with a packed month of May where I can reconnect with fans around the world,” said Foust, who has spent a lot of the off-season filming  new series of Top Gear for HISTORY. “My last race was six months ago and it feels like I’ve been away from the track for way too long.”

Foust will once again drive a Rockstar Energy-backed Volkswagen Beetle in Red Bull GRC, which was unveiled earlier this week.

In addition to a full Red Bull GRC campaign, Foust will make two FIA WRX starts, adding Germany to his United Kingdom outing. He will also return to Formula Drift again, a championship where he holds the distinction of being the only back-to-back title winner.

Foust will pilot his V8-powered Volkswagen Passat at events in Washington and Texas after already appearing in Georgia earlier this month.
