Foust beats Arpin to pole for second New River event

1 Mins read

Tanner Foust was the fastest qualifier for the second Red Bull Global Rallycross event at MCAS New River, eking out Steve Arpin by just over a tenth of a second.

Foust’s time of 40.102 seconds gave Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross their second pole position in succession after Scott Speed took the top spot in the first qualifying session of the weekend.

Speed was third fastest today though, narrowly beating Chip Ganassi Racing‘s Brian Deegan as the two IndyCar powerhouses locked out the top four positions.

Joni Wiman was next up in fifth, one spot ahead of Patrik Sandell who completed the fast six. Austin Dyne was seventh ahead of Sebastian Eriksson and Jeff Ward while the Subarus of Sverre Isachsen and Bucky Lasek completed the field.

Oliver Eriksson took the GRC Lites pole, ahead of Cabot Bigham and Alex Keyes.
