British GT Championship regular Jon Minshaw will take on the Total 24 Hours of Spa in the Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 he regularly competes in in Britain.
Minshaw takes over the entry initially intended for Mark Poole, but with the MP Motorsport owner deciding to take his Huracan to the Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup, there was an opportunity for Minshaw to take on the showpiece GT3 race.
He’ll be joined in the car by regular co-driver Phil Keen alongside a familiar Barwell face – Joe Osborne – and Corvette Racing star Oliver Gavin in the familiar green and red Demon Tweeks liveried Lamborghini.
The British GT pairing have good form at Spa, they finished fourth in Pro-Am – eighth overall – last year in their BMW Z4 GT3 just one place behind the Ecurie Ecosse sister BMW. Last year they were joined by Jonny Cocker and Leo Machitski, the latter of whom will be racing for the team this year as well.
Specifically, he’ll be racing in the second Barwell Lamborghini alongside Marco Mapelli and Marco Attard as well as Le Mans class winner Tom Kimber-Smith for a crack at the Pro-Am category.
Barwell Motorsport team boss Mark Lemmer is pleased with the line-ups in the two cars, he said: “It’s great to have John and Keeny on board for the Spa 24 hours again. They are both driving the car brilliantly in either wet or dry conditions. We have got super strong line-ups in both of our cars.”
The 24 Hours of Spa takes place on the 30th and 31st of July.
