Optimum Motorsport have announced that both Ryan Ratcliffe and Will Moore will no longer race for the team in the British GT Championship after struggling weight penalties due to both drivers being classified as Silver status.

Ratcliffe and Moore had been driving the #14 Audi R8 LMS GT3 and were placed eleventh in the championship.

“It’s a tricky situation with the weight penalties we’ve had to carry. We know that the Audi R8 LMS GT3 is very competitive, but we’ve just not had the results that we would like.” confirmed Optimum Motorsport Team Principal, Shaun Goff.

“I’d like to thank both Ryan and Will for their hard work and professionalism.”  he added.

While Ratcliffe will remain at the team for their endurance programme, the team will now be looking for two new drivers for the remaining two rounds of the British GT Championship at Snetterton and Donington.
