Koiranen GP‘s Matthew Parry came out on top of the GP3 Series Free Practice session ahead of the ART Grand Prix pairing of Nirei Fukuzumi and Charles Leclerc.

The early ace was set by Arden International‘s Jake Dennis who was able to hold a gap of fourth tenths of a second. The Briton was soon beaten by race winner, last time out, Antonio Fuoco who found the pace to go P1 before being displaced by DAMS‘ Jake Hughes who took over the top spot by half a second.

Artur Janosz demoted his Trident Motorsport team-mate to P3, before he was then knocked back by Arjun Maini lapping three tenths off Hughes’ benchmark.

The DAMS driver soon extended his lead out front with his team-mate Santino Ferrucci next to claim the P2 spot. Parry was a man on the move, however and clocked a 1m33.484 to take control of the timesheet. Fukuzumi reacted but could only managed second with Leclerc slotting in place behind him. Fuoco challenged his fellow Ferrari Driver Academy member for third place after leapfrogging the Monegasque driver but Leclerc demoted the Italian in the dying moments.

Parry crossed the line to top the session with: Fukuzumi, Leclerc, Fuoco, Matevos IsaakyanAlexander Albon, Hughes, Nyck de Vries, Dennis and Maini completing the top ten.
