Green Aiming To Push On Following Knockhill Podiums

1 Mins read

Ben Green has his sights firmly focused on taking more Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup podium finishes next weekend at Rockingham (27/28 August) after securing a top three double during the visit to Knockhill last time out.

Green’s most consistent front-running weekend of his maiden Supercup campaign so far saw him secure top four finishes in each of the four races in Scotland last weekend in his SuperGreen Racing Ginetta G55.

The 18 year old set the tone for the weekend ahead with a superb drive through from thirteenth on the grid to fourth in the opening encounter, before narrowly missing out on a podium in race two after coming up short in a drag race to the flag by just two hundredths of a second.

Green wouldn’t be denied a podium finish next time out though, with a strong defensive drive seeing him hold the position from the opening lap to the chequered flag – a performance he would repeat in the final live-televised encounter.

Those results make it three podium finishes for the campaign, with the Ginetta Junior graduate having made his podium breakthrough back at Donington Park, and move him up eighth in the championship standings.

“I’m really happy with how the Knockhill weekend went. We had good pace in Friday practice and brought that through to the race weekend,” said Green.

“We then made up a lot of positions during the first race of the weekend and had good starting positions in the following races. I’m confident we will be able to carry this momentum forwards and I hope I can be on the pace and pushing for podiums at Rockingham.”
