BHRC competitors head for Isle of Man Rally double-header

1 Mins read

The 2016 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship heads to the Isle of Man for its only double-header of the season.

Championship Leader Simon Tysoe takes an 18-point lead coming into this rally. Tysoe and his co-driver Paul Morris took the championship lead last month on the gravel of the Red Dragon Rally to take their third straight Category 2 victory of the season.

Defending champion Jason Pritchard and co-driver Phil Clarke are also in the running for the 2016 BHRC Championship after winning the title last year at this event.

However, three straight non-finishes have left them needing two big scores if they are to retain their BHRC crown. Pritchard heads the Holton Homes Category K this weekend on the Island.

Also competing this weekend in the BHRC double-header at the Isle of Man is former five-times British Rally Champion Jimmy McRae in his Porsche 911.

While Stanley Orr is one to watch out for in the Capital Construction Category 2, as is Bob Gibbons in the Vintage Car Radiator Company Category 1 who looks certain to win the category title in their Ford Cortina GT.

The 2016 BHRC Isle of Man Rally will start on Thursday 15 September from 7:00pm, and cars will finish around 4:00pm on Saturday after more than 160 miles of action around the Isle of Man stages.
