Pointon Sets His Sights On British GT4 With HHC Motorsport

1 Mins read

Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup front-runner Callum Pointon is set to move into the GT4 class of the British GT Championship next season with fellow series debutants HHC Motorsport.

After finishing third overall in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge in 2015, Pointon completed his first full season in the Supercup this year with Total Control Racing, taking a sole podium finish late in the year at Silverstone.

Now Pointon has been announced as HHC Motorsport’s third driver for a planned two-car entry into British GT next year, joining Ginetta Junior graduates Will Tregurtha and Stuart Middleton who will share a Ginetta G55 GT4.

“It is a really exciting project to be involved with. I have raced in one-make Ginetta championships against HHC-prepared cars and I know first hand what the team is capable of,” said Pointon.

“The British GT Championship, and especially the GT4 class, is the perfect place for me to progress my career. HHC is a great team to work with and I am confident that we will be challenging for wins in 2017.”

HHC team boss Charlie Kemp added: “Our GT4 programme is taking shape nicely and with someone of Callum’s ability, we are confident of a successful GT4 campaign.”

HHC Motorsport’s two car entry is pending approval from the series organisers, with the GT4 class currently over-subscribed for 2017.
