Supercup Expansion For Challenge Champions Xentek Motorsport

1 Mins read

The reigning Ginetta GT5 Challenge champions Xentek Motorsport are set to run up to four cars in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup next season.

The team won the Challenge title with Ollie Chadwick this season, and went on to make their Supercup debuts with Chadwick during the visit to Silverstone in September.

Xentek have announced three drivers for their entry, with two of their Challenge drivers, Jac Constable and Alex Taylor making the step up with them.

Constable was a two-time podium finisher in the Challenge this season on his way to a top ten points finish, while Taylor secured a best finish of eighth.

The team will also team up with Carl Boardley and his eponymous outfit as he embarks on his third full season in the Supercup following a superb end to 2016.

Boardley secured his maiden championship win during the visit to Silverstone, with four podium finishes in the last five races earning him fourth in the final standings.

Team co-owner Nick Hart has previously experience in the series meanwhile, having engineered eventual champion Tom Ingram and Pepe Massot with JHR Developments in 2013.

He commented: am really looking forward to getting my teeth back into the championship and reviving my relationship with the G55 car.

“Having worked with Carl briefly in 2014, I know that he is an extremely capable driver as shown at Silverstone. We work very well together and we are all looking forward to a battle for the championship crown.”

Chris Richards, the other team co-owner, added: “It’s great to be taking two of our GT5 drivers with us into the Supercup.

“Jac and Alex are both great guys to work with and both have shown great promise in the initial test day that they had in the G55. We are looking forward to getting stuck into a full testing plan to ensure that all are ready for the 2017 season.”
