James Calado has added a campaign in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup to his FIA World Endurance Championship commitments after joining the Kaspersky Motorsport team for 2017.
The British racer will link up with former Formula 1 race winner and fellow factory Ferrari driver Giancarlo Fisichella in a Ferrari 488 GT3, with Marco Cioci, a Ferrari GT3 regular himself, completing the line-up as Kaspersky Motorsport make their first venture into the PRO class in a championship that continues to blossom heading into its seventh season.
The trio with participate in the whole five-race season, which starts April 23 at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy and also visits British circuit Silverstone, the Circuit Paul Ricard in France, Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium and the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain.
“I’m very happy to be a part of the Kaspersky Motorsport family,” admitted Calado. “It’s going to be a big challenge for us, but I know the team very well already and I am sure that together with my experienced team-mates, we can have a very good season.
“The new car is fantastic to drive and the fight on the track is going to be fierce, which is what we are all looking forward to!”
