Mugen have confirmed that Guy Martin and John McGuinness will line-up for the team at this year’s Isle of Man TT.

The announcement was made by M-TEC Company President, Mr Tomoyuki Hashimoto and the team will be feeling confident after winning he last three SES TT Zero Races.

McGuinness, who has 23 TT wins to his name, will be looking to bounce back and take victory following the freak incident that shut down his machine in 2016’s race.

The successful road racer has been a part of the Mugen Shinden project since the very beginning of the programme back in 2012.

Meanwhile, Martin returns to the famous Mountain Course following a one year sabbatical from the sport. During his year away Martin took part in the Tour Divide Mountain Bike event in the Rocky Mountains.

The 35-year-old will be more determined than ever to achieve his first TT victory.

Both riders will fly to Tokyo in April where they will meet up with their 2017 TT Zero machines, Shinden Roku (Shinden 6) and the dedicated team behind the machine that is aiming to break the land-mark 120mph barrier for the first time in the class.

The team holds the current lap record the class with McGuinness’s lap of 119.279mph (18:58.743), which he set in winning the 2015 Race.

Martin and McGuinness will be seeing a lot of each other at this year’s road racing event as they are also teaming up together for the Honda Racing team.
