The 2017 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will officially get underway on March 3 at Autodromo di Franciacorta, as the series heads to Italy for the Prologue event before the season kicks off in April.

NWES teams and drivers have been invited to take part in the test at the circuit that will host the semi finals of the series this season as new and regular drivers warm up their 450hp V8 machines.

Fans of the series will be able to visit the paddock and get a taste of the experience for when the series returns in the American NASCAR Weekend Semi Finals on September 16-17.

“The Prologue gives us the perfect chance to present the American NASCAR Weekend and give the fans a taste of the great show they will see in September,” said Francesco Tartamella, Sporting Director of the Autodromo di Franciacorta.

“Hosting the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Semi Finals is a unique opportunity and we are working hard to put together an event that will thrill the fans with all sorts of American-themed entertainment.”

After the March 3 Prologue, the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will be back in action on April 8-9 for the 2017 season opener in Valencia, Spain.
