Ladell Swaps Clio Cup For Ginetta GT4 Supercup For 2017

1 Mins read

Renault UK Clio Cup podium finisher Charlie Ladell is making a surprise switch to the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup this season with Rob Boston Racing.

The former Ford Fiesta Junior champion has competed in the Clio Cup for the past two and a half seasons, racing with the WDE Motorsport and Team Cooksport squads.

Ladell broke onto the podium for the first time last season, with third place finishes at Donington Park and Brands Hatch GP taking him to ninth in the final standings.

The 20 year old’s Supercup switch will mark his first season competing in rear-wheel drive machinery, and also his first in GT racing.

Ladell is Rob Boston Racing’s first confirmed driver for their Supercup title defence, having won the title for the first time last year with Tom Wrigley.

“Ginetta has a huge presence on the TOCA package and always put on a fantastic show both on and off the track,” said Ladell.

“The Ginetta G55 GT4 is a fantastic car to drive and although it’s my first season in rear wheel drive, which I know won’t be easy, I’m aiming for a few top fives and maybe a podium!”
