Michael Rutter will contest the Sure Junior Classic TT and the Bennetts Senior Classic TT with the Guildford based team. He has ridden for the team since 2014, and stormed to victory on their 350cc Drixton Honda in the 2015 Junior Classic TT. Just twelve months earlier, he lost a hard fought battle against Michael Dunlop, with Rutter lapping at 103.974mph.

The Bridgenorth rider will also ride Ian Garbutt’s Mk11 500cc Seeley G50 Matchless in the Senior race, having ridden the machine for the previous two years. His first year on the bike in 2014 was momentous, as he broke the 500cc single cylinder record with an incredible lap of 109.102mph. He led the race and was on track to victory, until a minor problem saw him retire on lap three.

Last year saw trouble for Rutter on the opening lap, which saw him lap at just 60mph. But he bravely carried on, eventually lapping around 106mph before retiring on the final lap.

Rutter will surely be one of the favourites to take the win in both races, even though he faces stiff competition. The Classic TT is important to Ripley Land Racing team owners Ian and Janet Garbutt, and they are keen to add to their two victories which were secured by Chris Palmer.
