Trident have confirmed that David Beckmann has switched from Jenzer Motorsport to the squad for the remainder of the GP3 Series.
Late last week Jenzer had already announced that Jannes Fittje had joined the squad in place of Beckmann, with the latter’s future plans at the time unconfirmed.
This was all triggered by Trident’s Formula 2 squad who terminated the contract of Santino Ferrucci following a number of indiscretions.
Subsequently, Alessio Lorandi was promoted from their GP3 team into the seat leaving that vacant.
Beckmann made his GP3 debut in the opening round of the season at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya which was also the German’s result thus far with sixth place.
“I am delighted to join such an ambitious and passionate team. I think that, by working hard together, we will be able to experience a successful second half of the season,” said Beckmann.
Team manager Giacomo Ricci, said: “David Beckmann is a driver of undisputed value and I am delighted to see him join the line-up of Team Trident in the GP3 Series. I am sure that he will find an environment to thrive in so to lay good foundations and achieve great results already this season and in the future. David is joining a well-established and successful context and he will definitely be able to benefit from it.”
Action from the GP3 Series, resumes this weekend (27-29 August) with round five at the Hungaroring.
