With an eighth season of the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup now in the record books, The Checkered Flag have crunched the numbers to see how the 2018 action affected all the key statistics on the championship’s history so far.

2018 champion Charlie Ladell’s tally of ten victories for the year was only one shy of the record for wins in a season, while he became the sixth champion in eight years to secure twenty or more podium finishes in their title-winning campaigns.

With more race wins and podium finishes than his two predecessors to the title, Ladell’s ten wins in forty-five races gives him the fifth best win percentage (22.22%) of all time, and he has also become the ninth driver in Supercup history to have a podium record of over 50%.

Championship stalwarts Reece Somerfield and Colin White have now accumulated 167 and 164 race starts in the series respectively, while Carl Boardley has moved to 110 starts to join them, Carl Breeze and Jamie Orton as the fifth centurion in the series.

Statistically 2018 was the least competitive season so far in the series, with only four different race-winners being two less than the previous lowest total for a season, while the series has now produced 35 different race-winners and 52 podium finishers in its 204 races so far.
