Having made his debut last season competing in the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club, Lee Goldman is set to compete in the 2019 Ginetta G40 Cup.

Last season in the GRDC the 49 year old put in some strong performances, earning him a best finish of sixth place at Snetterton, before missing the final round so he could move up to the Ginetta G40 Cup.

After joining the grid mid-way through 2018, Goldsmith will compete full-time in the Ginetta G40 Cup this season with Assetto Motorsport.

Goldsmith will remain with the team this year with the support of aviation company Netjets, joining Chris Salkeld, Julian Wantling and Robin Grimwood in the team’s ranks.

“2019 will be my first full season in Ginetta G40 Cup having moved up from GRDC halfway through the 2018 season.” said Goldsmith.

“The change from road tyres to Avon track day tyres was a big step up in grip and corner speed but the new slicks are a massive step up again.

“The car has loads more grip and even seems to accelerate faster. I am super excited about the season ahead and hope to move my way up the grid, after some pleasing winter testing.

“A big thank you to Netjets for allowing me to fly their flag and their contribution to a smart new livery.”

Jim Edwards, team manager added, “Assetto Motorsport are delighted to welcome Lee back to the team this season. It was a pleasure to see the joy on Lee’s face when he first experienced the extra grip levels and speed that the new specifications wheels and slick tyres provided.

“We know that Lee is a man who just wants to go faster and faster! We’re excited to see what he can achieve this year and we expect him to continue improving during the season and gunning for podiums in the Gentlemans Cup.”
