Despite his two Am class wins in the Miller Oils Ginetta GT4 Supercup at Brands Hatch, championship leader Nathan Heathcote is heading to Donington Park with a huge disadvantage, having never visited the track before.

Century Motorsport’s Heathcote, 22, having spent most of his career on the Rallycross circuit, has not raced at most of the tracks on this years calendar. He did however have a test and club race at Brands Hatch, prior to the opening round on the Indy Circuit.

Having impressed at Brands Hatch, Heathcote, may find Donington a different proposition, it’s fast and has some challenging sections, like Craner curves, a downhill roller coaster into the Old hairpin, has caught many an experienced driver out over the years.

Despite this Heathcote is in buoyant mood, “It’s nice to have a good points lead but this could be a big ask, I’ve never even been to Donington and it doesn’t look like a track you pick up in 10 minutes!

“I really enjoyed Brands Hatch and I like the way the team operate, so I feel together we’ll be able to build some speed at the test. I’m hoping to be competitive as the weekend moves on and try to get on the podium again for sure.

“It’s been a fun Easter break but now it’s time to get serious on track again!”
