R-Motorsport will enter new territory this season by fielding an Aston Martin Vantage in The GT4 European Series with Seb Perez and George Gamble unveiled as the drivers.

The GT4 European series runs under the GT World Challenge Europe banner which R-Motorsport already runs in with the Vantage GT3. The GT4 version is more akin to the road going version but still a strong race car and will provide a platform for the drivers to impress.

In selecting two young guns as their driver pairing, the team will be able to grow the natural talents of the drivers and hone their ability which they have previously shown in other series.

Gamble has plenty of GT race experience, he raced in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup in 2017 before moving to contest the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain for the 2018 season where he promptly secured the title of Rookie Champion. He finished third overall a year later, featuring ten visits to the podium.

After starting out in rallying initially, Perez also took part in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB where in 2018 he was crowned Pro-Am champion. Perez then followed that up with two Pro class podiums and ended the season in fifth place.

Team Principal, Florian Kamelger has said: “We are very pleased to be able to extend R-Motorsport’s range of activities this season. We see this involvement in GT4 as the logical extension of our previous GT sporting activities.

So, as part of our programme of development for juniors, we are now giving these two GT4 drivers a chance to perform well and show that they are ready to move up into the higher categories, such as GT3, for example.

With George Gamble and Seb Perez, we have signed two promising young talents, who are very keen to show just what they are capable of in GT4.”
