The coronavirus outbreak has caused many events to be cancelled or postponed, now also the Titans-RX FIA International Series have decided to postpone their season-opener at MJP Arena in Austria, which was set to be held on 25/26 April.
Most recently, the 2020 season drivers have been testing the brand-new state of the art Pantera RX6 Real-E Supercar, which is an evolution model to last years car. The car uses a more environment-friendly eco-fuel engine, the cars are built in-house by MJP Racing in Austria.
Chassis, engine and misc parts are identical but the drivers can choose the body shells from different manufacturers, such as Audi A1, Mercedes Benz A-Class, Hyundai i30 to name a few.
Now as the coronavirus COVID-19 is a danger to larger gatherings, many motorsport events took action on Thursday 12 March to cancel or postpone their events. TitansRX announced on Facebook that they’re speaking with the racetracks organisations to come up with new deals.
TitansRX was set to be heading outside of Europe this season but they have now decided together with GP3R to postpone the event to next year. They were about to head to the former FIA World Rallycross Championship track at Trois-Rivieres in Canada on 1/2 August.
The statement in full reads:
Despite a very successful test day for drivers with the updated 2020 Pantera RX6 with the Real-E eco-fuel we are sorry to announce today that due to the Corona Virus panic our TitansRX 2020 calendar will have to be rescheduled.
We are in talks with the racetracks and wait for a clearer picture about the length of the scare. We have agreed with GP3R in Canada that our first race there will be postponed to 2021 to make room for our rescheduled European races.
MJP Arena in April will definitely be rescheduled. Everyone stay safe and don’t panic!
