With European lockdown measures being eased, the NASCAR Whelen European Series has announced their revised 2020 schedule.
Five circuits will be holding NASCAR GPs, with each track holding two races for the EuroNASCAR PRO championship, and the EuroNASCAR 2 championship.
The races will be held at Vallelunga in Italy, Zolder in Belgium, Hockenheimring in Germany, Most in the Czech Republic, and Valencia in Spain.
Under current conditions, it is not possible to hold a Euro NASCAR event in the UK, but both NWES and MSV, the operators of Brands Hatch, hope to reschedule a race there later in the year.
“We are very happy and proud to offer this great calendar to our competitors and European fans!” said Jerome Galpin, NWES President CEO to euronascar.com.
“We would like to thank our amazing circuit partners for all their support during these challenging times. We work all together to make sure competitors and hopefully race fans will come to the races in the best possible safety conditions and we will adapt our rules and procedures accordingly. We are ready to roll and can’t wait to get back on track!”
The season will kick off 12-13 September with the NASCAR GP Italy, held at Autodromo Piero Taruffi of Vallelunga for the very first time.
The NWES will then head to two historic tracks, Belgium’s Circuit Zolder on 3-4 October for the American Festival NASCAR , followed by Germany’s American Fan Fest at the Hockenheimring on 17-18 October.
On November 14-15, the series will head to the Czech Republic for the Autodrom Most NASCAR Show, before finishing the season at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo of Valencia, Spain, on 5-6 December with the Valencia NASCAR Fest.
Race weekend formats and further updates will come in the following weeks and months leading up to the return of the series.
