There will be three familiar names back on the Intelligent Money British GT Championship grid at Oulton Park in April, as Jonny Adam and Andrew Howard return with Beechdean AMR.

The 2015 GT3 champions will return for a full season after a wildcard appearance at Brands Hatch, rekindling one of the most successful partnerships in British GT history.

After two wins in 2011, Adam and Howard won six races and two GT3 drivers’ championships between 2012 and 2015.

Adam later became a Aston Martin Racing factory driver and won eight races and three British GT championships with TF Sport and Optimum Motorsport, now running Aston Martin Vantage AMRs and McLaren 720Ss in GT4 and GT3 respectively.

Only Jon Minshaw and Phil Keen have won more GT3 races together for the same team, that being 2020 Teams’ champions Barwell Motorsport, who took Rob Collard and Sandy Mitchell to the Drivers’ titles in the #78 Black Bull Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo.

Howard told britishgt.com

“That mid-season outing at Brands has really fired me up to have another go at the British GT title with Jonny next year. I knew he’d be in-demand so we agreed everything long before 2020 was over.”

“I am really looking forward to getting stuck in again and rekindling some of the old magic with Jonny who I know is also itching to get back out there.”

Four-time British GT champion Adam told britishgt.com he was keen to take back his title as the driver with the most wins in the series’ history.

I should be humble and say seeing Phil [Keen] take the record this year didn’t bother me, but of course it did a bit!

“I’ve been busy in WEC and elsewhere but have also kept an eye on what’s been happening in British GT, and of course ended up doing a couple of rounds with Andrew [Howard] and Alex West.”
