The Automobile Club de L’Ouest have revealed a 62-car entry list for the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans which commences on the 21 August 2021. The entry includes all 33 full-season entries from the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship plus a number of teams who are making use of their automatic invitations after 2020 racing success.

This year’s race will see the debut of the new Hypercar class with Toyota Gazoo Racing and Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus being two of the teams entering, the latter fielding their GR010 Hybrid and the former fielding the SCG 007 LMH. These four will compete alongside the Signatech Alpine team, making up a five car lineup, in the premier prototype category in the race.

On top of the 11 strong WEC entries, who are automatically entered into the race with the race being part of the Endurance Series, are the automatically invited pair from United Autosports and single entries from G-Drive Racing and PR1 Mathiesen.

Also, there are entries granted by the ACO Selection Committee to IDEC Sport, a second G-Drive Racing Aurus, Team WRT and High Class Racing with solo cars for SO24 by Graff, Duqueine and Panis Racing. Racing Team India, who will be racing in one of two Ligier’s in the field the team switching from the Algarve Pro-operated Oreca it raced with in the 2020/2021 Asian Le Mans Series. In a surprise move, Risi Competizione will be making their Le Mans debut with Ryan Cullen and Oliver Jarvis driving for the team.

Elsewhere in the field, the GTE Pro category both the Ferrari and Porsche teams who are featured as part of their taking part in the whole WEC series, but they will be joined by the pair of IMSA factory Corvette C8.R’s who are making their delayed debuts after initially intending to feature in 2020 and the WeatherTech Racing Porsche 911 RSR from IMSA’s GTLM class makes up the final car in the category.

GTE AM sees 24 cars racing with the 13-car full-season WEC entries joined by automatic invitations for TF Sport, another Porsche for Proton Competition; and five additional Ferraris from Kessel Racing, Inception Racing, Iron Lynx, Rinaldi Racing and, surprisingly, ALMS GT Champions (with Porsche) Herberth Motorsport. On top of this, there are entries granted by the ACO Selection Committee to Absolute Racing and a Porsche of Taiwanese Hub Auto Corse. Regulars in the ELMS series JMW Racing and Spirit of Race will also be at the race.

For the first time since 2016 there is set to be a Garage 56 entry for an innovative team: The La Filiere Frederic SAUSSET BY SRT41 is listed in the entry list with at least two of the drivers set to come from the Academy set up by quad-amputee for other drivers with physical impairments following his successful appearance and finish at the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours.

Unusually compared to previous years lists, today’s announcement does not include a reserve list, it has been reported that entries are still being accepted for inclusion as reserves to the race.
