Grasser Racing has named a young driver line-up ahead of a return to Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS competition this year.
After a year out of taking part, the Austrian outfit will be back on the grid in 2021 and will continue its long-standing partnership with Lamborghini. GRT will field two Lamborghini junior drivers in the Endurance Cup, with Tim Zimmermann and Kikko Galbiati set to compete for Silver class honours this term.
The duo will compete in the 5 round series with Galbiati already familiar with the paddock. The 22-year-old made his series debut last year at Imola and has spent several seasons competing in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series, with his best finish being coming in 2019 as the overall runner-up.
Although he is new to the series, Zimmerann has experience with both the Huracan GT3 and Grasser Racing in other championships. The 24-year-old has also driven TCR and one-make Porsche machinery during the early years of his competitive career.
A second Grasser Pro line-up is due to be announced in the coming weeks. The 2021 season will officially launch with two days of testing at Circuit Paul Ricard 25/26 March, followed by the opening race at Monza on 17/18 April. Grasser has previous success at the Italian track having taken two wins, the latter setting up its run to the Endurance and overall titles in 2017.
