Enduro Motorsport have confirmed their plans for a full season entry into the 2021 Intelligent Money British GT Championship with a Pro-Am pairing of Morgan Tilbrook and Marcus Clutton.
The team, which was only founded in 2020 took part in a limited GT Cup Program last year pedalling a Mercedes-AMG GT4, and had been planning to race round by round in this during this years British GT Championship using that car. They have now upgraded their effort to a full season in GT3 following the acquisition of Balfe Motorsport’s McLaren 720S complete with race-winning pedigree.
Team founder Tilbrook confirmed to BritishGT.com: “Yep things have escalated pretty quickly! I’ve got some endurance racing experience from Fun Cup but obviously it’s a very different ball game in British GT.
“We’re expecting a steep learning curve but I founded Enduro with the intention of competing at the highest level, and that’s exactly what we’ll be doing this year in the UK. Marcus’ knowledge will be invaluable and he’s more than quick enough to mix it with the championship’s familiar Pro drivers. A podium or two would represent a really good first season for us.”
Clutton, the pro of the pairing, won the 2011 GT4 British GT Championship with ABG Motorsport in the KTM X-Bow and was most recently seen in British GT at last year’s Oulton Park round, where he qualified fifth overall. The current Radical Challenge champion told BritishGT.com “Personally, it’s great to be racing at this level again, but more importantly a full-season programme offers the team a chance to build momentum while learning at a faster rate.”
Speaking about his partner, Clutton added: “Morgan doesn’t have the experience of British GT’s established Ams but he’s got the raw speed to worry them. I’d liken him to Graham Davidson who laid the foundations for his 2019 drivers’ title the year before. In a similar way, we definitely see this as a multi-year programme that builds towards a championship challenge.”
