It was a double win at the Miami double-header for two-time W Series champion Jamie Chadwick as she led every lap of the second race. This is Chadwick’s fourth consecutive victory for the all-female championship W Series, as she made her way over the chequered flag almost three seconds ahead of Spanish driver Nerea Marti.

She takes 25 points, making her current total 50, topping the drivers’ standings and leading the championship. With Chadwick out in front for the whole race, the battle for second between Emma Kimiläinen and Marti continued with the two overtaking each other many times in the first half of the race. Quantfury’s Marti claimed second, trying to chase down Chadwick after she had a poor start in Mimai’s first race, dropping down from pole position to finish sixth.

After a nightmare opening lap in yesterday’s race leading to the retirement of Alice Powell, the lack of grip on track caused Kimiläinen to lose the rear of her PUMA car at Turn 17 with just a few minutes of the race left and Powell struggled to avoid her, therefore causing damage to her Bristol Street Motors wing. Despite this she managed to clinch third position and a podium, making it the tenth in her W Series career.

With an unfortunate spin on the final lap of yesterdays race, Kimiläinen crossed the line in fifth position, taking valuable points for her championship, with British driver Abbi Pulling following behind in sixth.

Spanish racing driver Marta Garcia took second position yesterday and her maiden W Series podium, but was stripped of this after she was given a 10-second penalty for causing a collision with Finnish driver Kimiläinen on the final lap of the race after the safety car was brought in.
