Brad Smith to expand ARCA program; running two full-time cars in 2023

1 Mins read

It’s been a long journey for the ARCA veteran, team owner/driver Brad Smith. Brad has competed in the ARCA circuit since 1988, mainly driving for his own team, Brad Smith Motorsports, and has the most starts in ARCA history, with over 500. For 2023, Brad is expected to go above and beyond.

On 19 December, Smith confirmed in a Twitter reply that he will possibly field a second car for his team, the #26. Smith has a long history with the 26 car, running that number for nearly fourteen seasons in ARCA. Brad also confirms that he will continue to run his #48 car full-time in 2023.

The #26 will ride again in ARCA possibly as soon as Daytona. We have been working on a second car for a while and it is almost ready to roll. We are also working on a back-up car ourselves for 2023. We fully expect to be a two-car team for all of the upcoming season.” stated Smith.

The new driver of the #26 is set to be announced at a later date. The ARCA Menards Series season-opener is set to kick off at Daytona International Speedway on 18 February.
